I’m Ryan Chisum and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team at Sandpoint Law where I focus on civil litigation, estate planning, and problem solving.
ABOUT ME
Originally from Coeur d’Alene and now proud to be a part of the Sandpoint Community, I’m passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s legal challenges with clarity and compassion. Whether drafting a will or resolving a dispute, I’m here to provide steady, thoughtful counsel.
When not focused on the law, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Camille, at the many beautiful lakes in our area, hiking in the Selkirks, and skiing at Schweitzer.
MY JOURNEY
My professional journey began at Gonzaga University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and participated in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. After graduation, I served in the Idaho Army National Guard and completed Army Flight School, earning my wings as a UH-60L Blackhawk helicopter pilot.
MY FOCUS
During law school, I gained valuable hands-on experience through internships with both the Institute for Justice and the Ada County Public Defender’s Office—experiences that deepened my understanding of legal problem solving.
Today, I bring that same commitment, discipline, and problem-solving mindset to Sandpoint Law, serving clients with focus and integrity.
Discipline & Leadership: My experience in the military instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and strategic thinking—qualities I bring to every client’s case.
Academic Excellence: Graduating with honors from the University of Idaho College of Law, I also served as a Legal Writing & Analysis Teaching Assistant and was awarded Best Oral Advocate and Best Overall Advocate at the University’s moot court competition. I combine rigorous legal training with practical experience gained through internships at the Institute for Justice and the Public Defender’s Office and through working with Toby and Lisa at Sandpoint Law, P.C.
Community Commitment: Having trained and served in Idaho, I have a deep appreciation for the unique needs of our local communities and I am dedicated to providing personal legal solutions that reflect that understanding.
