Alison Dunbar grew up in Sandpoint as a horseman and skier, and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2007. She attended The Evergreen State College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree nestled in the temperate rainforest of Washington State.
Before attending law school, Alison served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. As a CASA she assisted parents and children to navigate abuse and neglect cases where children had been removed from their homes. This dedication to public service guided her path during law school, where Alison volunteered with Catholic Charities, completing citizenship applications for US residents.
Alison earned her law degree at Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. She served as a student attorney in the Environmental Law Clinic, which provided the opportunity for her to gain civil litigation experience as a student. The highlight of this experience was Alison's chance to brief a case in the Fifth Circuit, where she was successful. She also enjoyed the music and food of New Orleans, and the opportunity to engage with the vibrant culture of the Crescent City.
Alison is pleased to return to her hometown and serve the Sandpoint community with Berg, McLaughlin & Nelson.
