Berg & McLaughlin, Chtd, is an uncommon law firm. We operate like a big city firm, serving clients throughout North Idaho, but from the small town of Sandpoint. Like large law firms, our lawyers work collaboratively as a legal team, insuring that each client gets the best result possible, but our lower overhead allows us to set fees substantially below those big city firms.

We are proud of the fact that four of our attorneys are Sandpoint High School graduates who have returned home to practice law.

As a business law firm, we’re solution oriented. We listen carefully to our clients and then look for cost-effective, practical solutions that meet their immediate and long-term objectives. We bring this same approach to working with our real estate, probate, estate planning, and bankruptcy clients.

When necessary, however, Berg & McLaughlin is a determined courtroom advocate. We know that most lawsuits end in a mediated settlement. That’s why our team of experienced trial lawyers works diligently on case preparation. We believe that careful preparation — and providing the client with an honest assessment of strengths and weaknesses — puts the client in the strongest position for settlement negotiations. And, if settlement fails, this strategy allows us to present the most compelling possible case at trial.
